Resistance to Stretch

• With moderate resistance to stretch, Proform XL will resist stretching caused by the force of gravity.
• When purposely stretched, Proform XL thins evenly so it can be used to make circumferential splints.

Drape

• Proform XL has a moderate degree of drape that keeps the splint maker in control throughout the moulding process.
• With gentle handling, Proform XL conforms closely around small contours for an optimal fit.

Memory/Recovery

• Proform XL has moderate memory. Splints can be reheated repeatedly without thinning.
• Even after it has been stretched to make a circumferential splint, Proform XL will regain nearly half its original size and thickness when reheated.

Rigidity

• Moulded splints retain moderate rigidity.
• Splints will give slightly against strong force and will resist breaking.

Bonding

• Slightly tacky surface when warm helps hold the splint in place while moulding
• Coated to prevent accidental bonding.
• With the coating removed and dry heated, Proform XL provides a permanent bond so outriggers and other attachments stay firmly in place.

Surface Finish

• Unique smooth and silky finish resists finger printing. If pressure marks appear, they can be smoothed away by gently rubbing the surface while the splint is warm.

Applications

• With its unique memory and stretch, 1/8” Proform XL is ideal for neurological splints, circumferential splints, hand and wrist fracture bracing, lower extremity positioning splints and paediatric, non weight-bearing.
